blogathon!

so, after a bit of thought, i've decided to participate in this year's blogathon... like a walk-a-thon, but not quite. starting at 6 am on saturday july 27, i'll be posting at least once every half hour for 24 hours, to raise money for charity!

my sister said, "so basically, instead of getting sponsors and walking around a school track, you'll get sponsors and sit in front of your computer all day?" yeah, that's about it. but i love the idea of taking something i am doing already (hooray for dsl and unemployment) and using it to help others. plus it'll be fun for you to see my sleep deprived ramblings. ;-) it should be interesting to say the least!

one of the great things is that each participant can choose the charity they'd like to raise money for... i've chosen to blog for VH1's Save The Music Foundation, which raises money to help revive music programs in public schools. i chose them because music has always been a huge part of my life, and i think my exposure to music in school had a big impact on who i am today. i'm really dissapointed that schools are being forced to cut back on music and arts education, and i'm proud to support an organization that helps to ensure that music education is available to children in public schools!

if you'd like to sponsor me in this event (i need 3 sponsors by saturday the 20th to participate) you can do so here. you can donate as much or as little as you like, and once the blogathon is over you'll send your donation directly to the Save The Music Foundation. if you sponsor, not only will you get my never-ending gratitude and your name/link in a special spot on my page, but you'll get a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that you've helped bring the joy of music to a kid!

if you have questions, comments, or words of support ;-) , leave a comment or drop me an e-mail... i'll be happy to answer any questions you have, or at least direct you to someone who knows the answers!

thanks, and i hope to see you all on the 27th! (well, not actually see you, but you know what i mean... )
