Since I'm stuck at home, I've been sorting, scanning, filing and recycling the obscene amount of paper I have, and I'm finding GEMS!
Common Ground friends - Remember the PIG COMMANDMENTS?!? I think this is from the mid 2000's - 2003? 2004?
(For everyone else - our church group had a big plastic piggy bank where we collected 25 cent fines for swearing. After a while, things got a little ridiculous, and the Pig Commandments were born!)

In 1995, I sat in my garage and redialed ticketmaster over and over and over trying to get tix to the Golden Gate park show and failed.
In 1996, a friend invited me to the Spartan Stadium Show AND MY MOM DIDN'T LET ME GO.
In 2000, I had shoreline tickets that overlapped with a class I needed to graduate college, so I gave them to a friend.
After college, I was broke for quite a few years so it kept me from seeing shows I wanted to see.
Anyway, It's taken 25 years and about 5 tries, but I am FINALLY SEEING PEARL JAM.

In 2015, I set up a recurring deposit for $25 a month to KIVA, and used the money to make a micro loan each month!
I stopped adding money after 14 months, but I've re-loaned my $350 over and over as it's paid back, making SEVENTY TWO $25 loans in 60 countries, for a total of $1850 in loans over the past 5 years! I choose loans to women looking to start or improve their businesses (including one woman here in San Jose!), and in 5 years I've only lost $22 to defaults or currency exchange loss.
I love seeing how an amount that is mostly insignificant to me can make a huge difference to a woman who has trouble accessing traditional loans, giving her independence and a way to support herself and her family.
