For everyone complaining about the time change: 

If we didn't spring forward, there would be SIXTY DAYS in the summer where the sun would rise between 4:45 and 5 am. 

And if we didn't fall back, there would be roughly 2 months where the sun wouldn't rise until 8am (and almost a month where it rises closer to 8:30am!)

And that's in San Jose, it would be worse the further north you get.
